سيستمهاي انتقال قدرت

امروزه سيستم انتقال قدرت دستي MT (موسوم به گيربكس دستي) كه به وسيله راننده از طريق سيستم تعويض دنده و عملكرد كلاچ كنترل مي‌شود، در حال تغيير و تحول مي‌باشد. در سالهاي گذشته تعداد نسبت تبديل‌ها از چهار به پنج رشد يافته و براي خودروهاي ورزشي اين تعداد حتي به 6 دنده (مستقيم يا جلو) نيز مي‌رسد. اين افزايش تعداد دنده‌ها در كاهش مصرف سوخت موثر مي‌باشد. در حال حاضر صنايع سيستم انتقال قدرت متعارف در جهت افزايش كاربرد مواد سبك، افزايش تعداد نسبت تبديل‌ها، كاهش تعداد قطعات متحرك و افزايش كنترل الكترونيكي در حال تغيير است.
سيستم‌هاي انتقال قدرت در حالت كلي به چند نوع تقسيم‌بندي مي‌شوند:
- سيستم انتقال قدرت دستي (گيربكس دستي)- سيستم انتقال قدرت اتوماتيك (AT)
- سيستم انتقال قدرت دستي با كلاچ اتوماتيك (MTAC)
-سيستم انتقال قدرت دستي اتوماتيك شده (AMT)
- سيستم انتقال قدرت با تغييرات نسبت تبديل پوسته (CVT)
- سيستم انتقال قدرت متغير نامحدود (IVT) سالهاي متمادي اروپايي‌ها فقط از دو نوع گيربكس استفاده مي‌كردند
